Now in its fourth year, Edinburgh Comic Con returns to its home at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.

It will feature many top named guests from the world of comic books and science fiction, with most of them appearing for the first time ever in the UK, including writers, artists and actors.

Among them are the stars of AMC’s Comic Book Men, which will be of particular interest to those who travelled to see Kevin Smith at last year’s Edinburgh International Film Festival. Actually, ECC will also feature the first ever UK screening of the award winning Kevin Smith biopic Shooting Clerks.

In addition there will be the familiar attractions such as prop displays, large vehicles, photo opportunities, photo booth, costuming groups, gaming area, panels and cosplay, to name but a few.

Their charitable endeavours will once more be undertaken by the Edinburgh Science Fiction Fellowship, who this year will be fund raising on behalf of the Sick Kids Friends Foundation.

This year, the annual cosplay championships will once more have a grand prize of £500, which will see entrants from all over the world travel to Edinburgh to showcase their costumes.  Among the professional cosplayers, will be Steve Wild from Arbroath making his first appearance at a UK convention. Steve previously made the national press after building his very own lifesize Hulkbuster armour, which appeared in the last Avengers movie.
