The True Believers Comic Festival: Summer Variant Edition is a small slice of TBCF comic book goodness in Gloucester for a one day comic con event, raising money for the Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice.  Tickets are just £5 for adults (kids under 13 go free) and can be bought from our website Ticket Page.  At least £1 from every ticket sold will go to Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice.  If you’d like to read more about the event, check out our 8 Simple Reasons To Get Excited For The TBCF: Summer Event article.

As with all True Believers events, we have a great selection of tables, featuring Small Press Comic Creators, Artists selling original artwork and prints, Traders selling back issue comics, Tabletop Games and collectibles.  We will also be joined by the Cheltenham R2-D2 – who will be going around the event posing for photos and collecting money for the charity – and the Joker Squad Star Wars cosplay group.

You can find full details on everyone who will have a table HERE.

As well as the two halls of tables, we will also be running panels and workshops on the day.  Our panels include the Discover Something New Panel with the team behind King Legacy and the Creating Comics Panel with Robin Etherington, Sarah Millman & Nick Prolix.

We will also be running 2 Cosplay Workshops at the event; one looking at cosplaying as Heroes & Villains and the other looking at what it is people love about cosplay.  We’ll also be holding another Superhero Life Drawing session in which one of our cosplayers will be striking a pose for people to draw.

And if drawing is your thing, we’ll have our first ever Draw Something Sunday Jam Piece, which will be open all day for people to come along and add their drawing too.  Like Draw Something Sunday on our Facebook page, the jam piece is just a bit of fun designed to get people drawing something, so even if you don’t think you’re much of a drawer, we’d love to see you add something to the piece on the day.

As well as all that, we’ll be unveiling the cover art for the True Believers 2018 Charity Comic Tales From Beyond Infinity, which will be available to buy at True Believers Comic Festival 2018.

For those who aren’t familiar with Blackfriars Priory in Gloucester, this stunning venue offers us a unique surrounding to hold this event in and, if you’re a cosplayer, get some stunning photographs too.  Located in the city centre, Blackfriars is a short 5 minute walk from the Train Station and the Bus Station and an even shorter walk from most of the city centre car parks, most of which – as it’s a Sunday – are just £2 for all day parking (although please be sure to check out car parks in advance as some still charge the full amount).

Tickets will be available to buy on the door of the event, but if you’re feeling really supportive please head to our Ticket Page on our website and buy your tickets in advance.  If you’re excited about the event and feel like spreading the word, please head to the Facebook Event Page and invite your friends and family or share some posts and help us spread the word and reach more people.
